I have been reading about BARF and natural feeding for a while now and I am very interested in feeding my dogs this way. I have two pugs and I am paranoid about them being able to handle bones such as chicken wings. Has anyone had any experience in feeding BARF to flat-faced dogs? Many thanks.

I have  shih-tzu's and they get a mixture of barf and home cooked, they get a huge variety of bones,i get the butcher to cut them down to little dog size, they handle chicken wings and necks with no problems.Their squishy faces have never posed any problems, infact i have never thought about their faces getting in the way before reading this :D
I know  alot of pug owners here in Australia who feed barf, the reigning champion was raised on raw meat and bones as are his pups.

So my advice to you is "go for it" your dogs will be healthier, their teeth cleaner which is especially important for breeds like ours, just supervise the first time you give bones ,as some dogs dont know what to do with them which is a damn shame as raw meat and bone is their natural diet, some dogs gulp them down and others will meticulously pick the meat off,you just need to figure out if you have a gulper or a chewer.

Let us know how you get on :)
