has anyone experienced any side effects of vivitonin. we are trying to find out why my13yr old dog faints on waking in the mornings, it has become a lot more frequent since the vet upped his dose from 1/2 to1 tab 2x daily to see if it would stop the fainting. his regular vet is on maternity leave and we are having to deal with a locum who does not seem very up to date with anything other than band aid and asprin treatments. my gut feeling is to take him off of it but what if!!!!!!!!!! also .

It's quite a while (9years) since I had a dog on Vivitonin, but as I understand it, Vivitonin increases the blood flow to the major organs, brain in particular. So I would have thought that increasing the dose would be the right thing to do under the circumstances. Don't take him off it, I think he's be alot worse without it. It's meant for long term use.

Does your dog have heart problems?  If so fainting is a common symptom of congestive heart failure.
