Hi all,
I have 2weeks left to work of my redundancy notice  (I'm sure they are in breach of contract tho' I have worked there 7yrs and should have been paid 7weeks notice not 1month )
I haven't found alternative work yet either, but am posting off applications 'left, right and centre' lol.
I am also getting into my P.A.T work with Spice ( not too sure about the P.A.T t-shirt :D bit on the bright side :D)

Keep your fingers all crossed for me for a job soon pleeeaase :D

Good luck....I hope that you find something soon.   Keep up the good work with the P.T.A.   You just find that very rewarding.

Hi Jaqueline

My husband looked into what you are entitled for redundancy and the HRM manager said that statutory redundancy is a minimum of £270 per week for each year worked at the company so you should be entitled to 7 weeks at the minimun if you have been there 7 yrs. It might be worth ringing citizens advice to see what they say. Good luck with the new life.:)

Are you talking reduntancy or notice. Your reduntancy is a week a year or if over a certain age, then a week and a half.  As Nikki says it is a set amount, not your actual salary they have to pay.  That is tax free.  Your notice period is as per your contract of employment and is taxed.

I was made reduntant after nine years earlier in the year, the company did not go through to correct selection or consultation proceedure and I took them to the Employment Tribunual and won.

If you are in any doubt then I found ACAS excellent, both their website and helpline.

Thanks for the info.I will contact acas tomorrow!
I was referring to my 'right to notice',as my contract reads 4weeks at 4years and one week thereafter per completed year i.e. they should have given me 7weeks notice or pay in lieu of it! and have only written 4weeks in the confirmation letter of redundancy.

The actual redundancy payment figure is right for the number of years I have been there and that will be a tax free sum,so at least they got that part right ;)

If it is seven full years and it is in your contract, then they will have to pay seven weeks.  They won't like that bit though :)
