WOW! first ever champ show, well done! It is not as serious and nerve racking as you think. If your dog has good potential, what do you have to lose? You basically need to practice with him but don't bore him out of his wits so that he does not perform well for you on the day.

Hi Box mad,
Which champ show. And how old is he.
To tell you the truth there is not much difference, If your ok doing an open, you'll be ok doing a champ. The only difference is there will probably be more dogs in the class, and a good chance more people watching.
Just relax and enjoy it, and just think how much prouder you'll feel when he beats a whole load of others :D

I went to my first ever champ show last year and thought I'd be really nervous and expected it to be really different to any other show I'd been to.  In reality, they are no different to open shows - you still have to move and stand your dogs in the same way, the only thing you'll proabably find, like Mitch says, is there will be more dogs in your class - definitely true for my breed.

Good luck at Driffield - let us know how you get on.
