Just read the figures on labradors registered with the KC 2000 there was 34,888 and 2001 33.668 God know wonder we are busy in Rescue its a night mare and Goldies I thought were similar in popularity are 12.730 last year we alone took in 209 Labs for rehoming and up to now this year we have had 38 and we are only one of the many rescues in the country

And those are just the KC registered pups - think of all those that are unregistered or registered with the "alternative" commercial registry companies :-( Registrations in Cockers have gone down a little but I don't think there are any less being bred, just that some notorious puppy producers no longer use the KC system (still nowhere near the number of Labs though - those figures are frightening!)
