Topic Dog Boards / Behaviour / Pup straining after pooing
- By chrisclipson [gb] Date 12.09.04 07:19 UTC
Sorry in advance for the graphic nature of this post!! My young (nearly a year old - how time flies...) lab seems to poo regularly and certainly does a healthy amount (!), though it can often be a little runny later in the 'process', even when it starts off solid. But, he often/usually keeps crouching and strains after he seems to have finished, which may produce nothing or maybe a little runny splat. Is this anything to worry about and if so what are the possible causes? That's it, you can all carry on with your meals now... :-)

I have one exactly the same - during a walk he will completely empty himself so that nothing more will come out no matter how hard he tries, not even a drip! He's 5 now, and has always been the same; he's fit and healthy and active, so I just accept that it's the way he is!
:)
