Topic Dog Boards / Breeding / starting labor!

FINALLY, last night she started digging, didn't really eat all day, temp was in the mid 98's F.  this morning very restless started panting  and needed to be near me constantly.
BUT, right now she is peaceful and stopped panting. I have heard this breed is prone to primary inertia so when will I know if it's inertia or just a start and stop of first stage labor? Any ideas?
I have been waiting for about 10 days for her to start. She is 63 days from the LAST breeding today !!
She better not stop now :)

It is 64 days of the last breeding today. she is having mild contractions but no pushing or straining . just mild contractions since 2:00am.  she panted since 7:00 am yesterday. but since 2:00 AM she will pant then every 5 min or so she will close her eyes. she is a very vocal dog so she will let out a yelp every now and then. She still has plenty of energy because when I take her out she tries to chase birds.  I am just drained right now. I was hoping she wouldn't be one that took forever. I don't want to jump to c sec if she is progressing. I checked and there is nothing in the birth canal. She just started to pass the clear stringy plug I guess when she went out. she is squatting but no pee.
that's the scoop right now. I'm trying not to get discouraged and panicked at how long this is going.
Not sure when I should panic but I think it's too soon yet :)
I keep you posted

Thank you !  I just checked her internally and there seems to be a pup in the birth canal. she isn't a big pusher so i'm hoping the contractions will be strong enought on their own. i want to walk her around to get things going but she yelps if she gets up. i'm still going to try. she wants to be with me constantly so i have done nothing for 2 days. I feel so bad for her right now.

She ended up with two but one was too big and was born dead. I am heart broken. So we have a singleton.
I'm wiped out right now but she is precious.
Thank you
