Personally I always keep my dogs on 2 meals a day. I think that they are better for it.

I think 2 meals a day has loads of advantages, it reduces the risk of bloat and breaks up the day for the dog and reduces the risk of nausea, low blood sugar levels and throwing up bile etc

Mine always stay on 2 meals a day as well, and if by any chance the older girl misses her breakfast, she will without fail throw up bile .......

1 of my huskies is always sick if she doesn't get 2 meals a day, i think her stomach gets too empty.

I agree. Two meals a day suits most dogs better than simply one. But if for personal reasons you decide to feed them only once a day, then a year old is the right time to change. 6 months of age is about when I cut them down from 3 to 2 meals.
:)
Most of mine have cut down themselves at round about 10/12mths of age to 1 meal per day. I`ve found no problems what so ever with feeding the adults once a day.

I feed twice a day as well. Why do you want to cut down to one in such a hurry?
Eating is one of the greatest pleasures our dogs have,so 2 or even 3 smaller meals per day would be better IMO :)
If you really have to cut down,i would wait until your dog is 1 year old. Mine also throw up bile if they go too long between meals,i guess they feel the same sickly feeling as we do when we go too long without eating, not to mention the lack of spark and energy.
Altho there are some dogs who cut themselves down to one meal, i guess the bottom line is to let the dog decide.

I would personally have them on 3 meals a day till at least 8 months old and then reduce to 2.
