Is it right dogs should never be given bananas ? if so can someone advise why ??

I give my dogs bananas without any problems - although they only get a small amount at a time :)

I haven't heard of that ...I *have* read that you shouldn't feed dogs rasins or grapes as they can be poisonous and you have to be careful of any fruit with stones but never heard that about bananas

Bananas are fine for dogs, good source of potassium.  Mine get them regularly in a "smoothie" :D

Mine all eat banana....

Although when they get it whole, i think they dont like the texture, they seem to eat it because if they dont, someone else will!

Competition is great to get dogs eating!

Mine are like their owner and adore Bananas.  they often get a bit when I am being good and weighing them for my diet, so I give them the excess :D

The old wives tail was, like pork, they give a dog worms! I stress, it is a old wives tail and that there is no truth in it.

One dog loves bananas and the other doesn't.

OUR setter not only likes them her party trick is to peel them before she eats one or if she hast had one for a while will bark at the fruit bowel to alert us to the fact she wants one !!! loves cucumber too -Jo 

Mine likes then, as long aas their mushed up, or in a smoothie. He wont eat them as they are. He also has a 'thing' for strawberry's! :rolleyes: :)

My 4 month old staffi likes banana butties for her breakfast! She also likes apples, oranges (without pips) grapes and melon!!! I thought it was strange but after reading this I feel happier giving her fruit now.

Please do not feel happy about feeding grapes; they are toxic to dogs as are raisins.

Luna has mushed banana in her kongs and she loves it.

I've heard onion is also toxic to dogs
