Hi there!
I would like some advice about whether I should castrate my male Staff and what age would be the best to have this done? We also have a female staff, who has been spayed, so there is no danger of accidents happening, but I don't want to get our male neutered at too young an age, as I would like him to mature as much as possible first, but would like to avoid any behavioural issues. Having never owned a male dog before, I am at a bit of a loss as to the best thing to do. He will not be shown or used for breeding. Some people tell me I should not have him castrated, some say wait until he is two years old, other say get him done at 6 months. Any advice from staff people/breeders/anyone who's owned males before very very welcome!!

If your bitch is done then you have no real need to have him done, however if that is what you wish I would wait till he is about 2 1/2 years at least, the longer you leave it the less chance he will develop troubling side effects.
