Do you need a passport to fly to Jersey from the UK if you are a UK Citizen ? I didn't think you did ?

er no!

I was just wondering if you did with the threat of a terrorist attack, to make sure that you were who you say you were. Quite a valid question ? Sorry if I sounded a bit stupid but thank you for your reply.

You now need a passport or photographic driving licence for all domestic flights as proof of ID.  If you use the self-check-in thingy there's a chance you might not be asked for it, but it's better to be safe than sorry.

Oh dear I best sort my passport out then as it expired a year ago ! I wonder how long it takes ?

Mine came back within 2 weeks :)

The post office do a service whereby you pay them a fee, they check all the info before it's sent to make sure it's all correct and they guarantee to have it back within a certain time.  Don't know how long, I haven't actually used it myself, but it may be worth looking into if you're pushed for time.

You don't need a passport, but you will need some photo ID. (you only need a passport if you plan to visit France while you're there)

I stand corrected Kath.  This wasn't what they told me when I phoned the Airport on behalf of my boss to check what he had to take.  :rolleyes:

I have alway promised myself I would go to Jersey to see the place Gerald Durrel st up for the animal conservation.

Maybe one day

Jersey Zoo is on my list of 'Places to visit before I die' too.

One place that stands out in my memories of Jersey (apart from the beautiful countryside and beaches) was the German Underground Hospital, it was really creepy (though I was only 9 or 10 at the time) but it was an amazing place.

I have to go to Jersey about every 3 months, it is fantastic, IMO you will love it!

I have been to Jersey twice and agree with Jeff it is a fantastic place.Gerald Durrell did a wonderful job setting up Jersey Zoo and they do a good job continuing his work.
The German Underground Hospital is definitely spine chilling. What these people had to and did endure during the War should make us all thankful it was 60 years ago and that we are not having to live through it today.
The Glass Church ,The Living Legend,Flying Flowers are all worth visiting along with all the natural beauty spots.
My son who was 9 years old on our first visit stood at the top of Gorey Castle looked out over the ramparts and exclaimed Now theres a sight to see :D Would go again tomorrow :D :D Gillian
