I have recently emailed some papillon breeders and asked about puppies i said that i would like a bitch. And one person said that she loves her females but finds it easyer to show a dog cause they are more 'showier' than females Is it true that they work better for you in the ring than females?

It depends on the individual - my sparkliest showdog is a bitch who shows her socks off at the drop of a hat. She's now 11 and, charisma-wise, can knock spots (ooh - accidental joke!) off the opposition!

They're ...... um .... challenging! Very boisterous, very sensitive, very loving, memories longer than an elephant's and Peter Pan dogs who never grow up. 6 stone of bouncy puppy! They shed hair for England and will eat anything remotely edible, even if it means standing on the kitchen table to get into the top cupboards. They have a terrific sense of humour and have a desperate need for human company. They generally don't *do* swimming or retrieving ("Why've you thrown that away? Don't you want it? Fair enough, you know best"). I think they're great!

My uncles dog, polly, absolutly loved food. If you took her out for a walk she would eat anything that she could find and god help you if you tryed to stop her!! She would eat anything on the run and she could beg for england, and if you didnt give her anything she could sulk for hours!!! But my nan was her week spot she used to go and stop once a week and she loved her she would go and try and sit on her lap!! she was so funny. I would have one tommorow if i could. I just wish that i was older and i could of remember more or her.

One of mine was called Polly! She died when she was 15, and was the absolute boss of all the others. I never knew a dog with such a waggy tail - until it broke and never wagged again. Fabulous character.
