Poor Emma my 5year old yellow lab is being driven demented by a little puppy screaming. No panics, not as bad as sounds. I live out in country and have five cottages close by, and most have dogs. At the bottom of my garden on the other side of the beech hedge lives a couple of Working Springers, we meet them most days on our walks. A new puppy has arrived and is now going into the kennels with the older 2 and it seems that he is none too pleased with his surroundings and literally screams like a banshee. Owner is trying not to give in too easily but finding it very difficult. In the meantime my poor Emma who has been a fantastic mum to 2 litters and an unbelievable foster mum to Bailey and Tia is just about ending herself trying to get to the crying pup. I feel so sorry for her, she lost her own litter about  4 months ago and is now desperate to get to the pup when she hears it. I know the puppy will settle soon, but nothing will console Emma at the moment. Any suggestions, apart from the usual, have tried cuddly toys, bits of blanket etc.

Edited to say: Emma has just contracted Kennel Cough and this distress seems to be making her symtoms worse
