Hi as many of you know I have a 11 month bitch well we are looking after a male puppy(6mths) he is a lovely dog but all he has done since he got here is try and hump her she is not in season and isnt due again until xmas we seem to have this problem everytime we spend any time with entire dogs they just keep at her the whole time she is getting a bit fed up with it. Is there anything I can do to stop this and is this normal for entire males if so thank god I got a bitch.
Thanks
Mary

it can be pretty normal until she gets so fed up she sees him off - generally that tends to work quite well.

If you get her spayed then prepare yourself that he might think she's in season then too - not pleasant. Willis ended up on valium (and me on wine!) until Phoebe was well enough to see him off herself :)

We only have him for two weeks thank god he is lovely but I dont think I could cope with any longer than that. She is normally asleep at this time while I go on here and has just bitten him on the bum as he keeps waking her up she keeps trying to get up on my kneesto get away from him not fun as she now weighs about 30kilos .

Bitches do it too, I'm afraid. My friends bitch is always 'on the go' with her other bitch, and I've known missie do 'it' to my daughters' leg!

its his hormones................ they go through fazes of it.normal behave im afraid.she will put him in his place but its not funny when you live with it.
missie your right bitches do it too.my dads boxer does it to him when she gets borred if they aren't walking.
not all males are like it though, tob hasn't tried with any of us thank god or my dads girl.but she would tell him hell no.
my old boxer never did even though he lived with a bitch on heat untill she was 3 (had her spayed) he used to walk behind her doing the motions,he hadn't got a clue. bless him.

It is normal puppy behaviour, both dogs and bitches do it and unless people are the centre of their passion I don't know why it causes such upset. If it is a problem then stop it or put them in another room but it will do no harm and it stops once they are mature. Even when mature it can be part of play and some spayed bitches seem to do it a good deal.

He has decided after a week that it is not a good idea to hump her anymore as she tried to castrate him today, he seems ok now she didnt break the skin he just made a lot of noise at the time.
