Topic Dog Boards / Health / Cruciate Injury - Homeopatic treatment?
- By ice_cosmos Date 17.08.04 19:33 UTC
Hi there,

Does anyone know of any homeopathic remedies to help heal a torn cruciate ligament in a pup that is 5 weeks old? Also has anyone had any experience of this type of injury, and did it heal okay?

Thanks :)

A torn cruciate really needs proper medical attention & advice.  I'm not sure if a homeopathic remedy can be given alongside conventional treatment but there's about 10 different ways for a vet to fix a cruciate and only they can assess the best possible ways that help can be given to such a young pup.

I have had an older dog tear her cruciate and she made an excellent recover from it, she's now 13 and still wandering around!

They have been given proper medical attention and advice. Due to his age the vets can't give him pain killers or anti inflammatories, and he is on crate rest. The breeder wanted to know if there was any homeopathic treatment they could give him to help. Sorry I don't have more information, this was posted on another forum and I thought I'd just ask on here to try and get a wider response :)

MSM, combined if need be with glucosamine and condroitin.  It is supposed to help with cartiledge, ligaments, etc. I'm not sure whether it can be given to puppies so young though.  Hydrotherapy is also a help when he gets old enough.
