Hey there!! Im 13 and me and my 3 friends are going to do some dog walking in our local area!
It seems a good way to make some money and we all enjoy walking dogs!! lol
We know a lot about dogs and the care they need and the route we are taking them will be  very safe.
We are going to do 30min walks and charge £2.00 per walk. Does that seem reasonable?
As you are all fans of dogs and dog owners, would you let 4 13 year olds walk your dogs for 30mins if something like that came up in your area.
Thanks.
Sarah!!

Sadly not, as if anything were to happen to you, another person or another dog you could not be held responsible due to your age.  I am not sure if it is even legal for someone of your age to be in charge of a dog.  Sorry :(

Sorry,me neither.
I have 3 medium sized dogs and a small dog and I don't even let my 15 year old son loose with them.

Sorry, I wouldn't either (though that's not to say that others wouldn't: there are people in my area who just let their dogs wander the streets, even if they live on a main road).  And from the dog walker's perspective, surely it is necessary (or at least highly advisable) to have insurance to run this kind of service?  As a previous poster said, you could be held responsible for any incident, assuming that you are old enough to take that responsibility, which I am pretty sure you are not.  For example, if you agreed to walk someone's dog you probably wouldn't know what it is like with other dogs until you are out with it.  What would happen if it unexpectedly went for another dog?  Conversely, how would you react if another dog tried to attack the dog in your care?   Last summer we looked after a labrador for a week and it was attacked (luckily not seriously) by a Jack Russell.  I would not take on that responsibility again, and I would certainly not leave my dog in the care of someone I didn't know.  In fact, I wouldn't even let my parents, or my partner's parents take her for a walk.  Overprotective, perhaps, but more can go wrong if you leave your dog in someone's care than if you leave your child with a babysitter, there are just too many unknown quantities.  I am sure you really are all dog lovers but this is a huge responsibility for anyone of any age, which is why dog walkers should have insurance.

Sorry, no.

Too many things can go wrong, and they can go wrong very quickly and very seriously, especially if you do not know the dog and the dog does not know you.

Sorry, I wouldn't either.  I would never forgive myself if something happened to either you or any of the dogs while out!  Are you well known to the people who own the dogs you would want to walk?  Because if a strange group of teenagers came to my door asking to take my dogs out, that would also be a definite no!  I'm sure if you want to do something dog related, you could maybe think about volunteering at a local animal shelter if possible?  I used to do that a few years ago! :)  And remember, when it comes to dog walking, it needs to be done in all weathers, not just when the sun is shining, it's a big commitment!

No I would never let anyone of your age out with my dogs; you are too young, you may think you know a lot but you have not lived long enough to see the many permutations of things that can go wrong.  You are not old enough to drive a dog to a vet if required or to have the necessary insurance. Neither would you be strong enough to control many breeds adequately should a situation arise.

Have you thought about car washing?

There are lots of jobs you could do as a small group, like tohme suggests car washing, maybe gardening, shopping, window cleaning !! oh how I miss the 'bob a job' days!

Sorry to join the negative feedback, but I would also not allow you to walk my dogs.

I have 3 Staffs and I know that you would not be able to control my dogs: they are powerful, fast and prone to attacks from other dogs who have had bad experiences from Staffs (:-()

How would you react if one of the dogs you were walking was attacked by another dog, or went to attack another dog?  How would you separate them....could you even?

I had to do just this today when a mongral went for one of my Staff boys and he decided to defend himself...I had to wade in and seperate them both...not a pleasant experience.

I would not recommend that you walk dogs to earn money.

sorry me either,a teenager wouldn't be able to walk my dog,to big and strong.
plus like others have said you never know what is round the corner on a walk.
