Ok might sound like a weird question but what have you found to be the best quality dog collars mine have had material ones that just fray and become no good. Patterned ones the patten comes of then they look tacky leather ones crack. So far leather has probably been the best i have but my dogs go through collars like no tommorow. Im looking to get them all a colar each all the same type. So please let me know your prefrences in dog collars

Leather half check ..bought two years ago and no cracks as yet :)

I use best quality english bridle leather made to measure collars; I still use one that was made for my first dog in 1990! If you get top quality leather and look after it it will outlast some dogs as mine has.
Any good saddler will make you one to your own specifications; mine are flat leather with solid brass fittings; I would not use them at the seaside though...................

Hi
Invest in some Neatsfoot oil or Dubbin from your local saddler; these will help prevent cracks and preserve and waterproof the leather. For, whilst the oils in the dogs coat may help the underside of the leather, the outer will need some help.....especially if he/she is prone to deep diving in the local swamp! :-)
Go for best quality English leather...NOT Indian...it will last you a lifetime if properly looked after!

I have leather ones with tree tops on them, Taz has had his for almost 11 years,Tiva has had hers for 6 years, Junior has had his for 4 years and I just bought 2 more for my other boston's :)
