My JRT is 7.5 months old, he wasn't very well the first week I brought him home and went off his food. Since then he became difficult to feed, I tried a few different foods based on recommendations I read here. The only one he will eat is Natures Menu ( chicken, tripe liver, heart with vegetables) he does not eat the recommended daily amount and will only eat once a day.

He is happy and gaining weight nicely, I do give him cooked chicken for his treats when we are out. He has Purina complete as treats when we are indoors ( likes to catch them).

I would like to know if this sounds well balanced or is there anything else you would recommend that he needs. He will not touch fish at all, I have tried tuna and pilchards but he just walks away.

Thanks
Alison

One thing i can highly reccomend are malted kelp tablets from dorwest herbs  www.dorwest.com

These tablets helped my dogs with poor appetites immensly,i cant reccomend them highly enough! They also put a lovely shine on their coat and helps with pigmentation.

If he's putting on weight then he must be eating enough,my dogs were the same, they would only eat once a day in the evening, but now they are eating a little for breakfast plus their dinner.
Geez i thought my pair were the only dogs on the planet that didnt like tinned fish, they wont touch fish of any sort,i have tried them ALL  It's a real shame as it is so good for them,i give fish oil capsules instead.
