My 7 month old Rottweiler is brilliant with 4 of my cats (they put him in his place) but my siamese is forever 'bothering' him, he talks to him and 'tarts' about him. My Rotty is very sweet with him and licks him, but then he starts getting a little rough with him. His paws are almost the size of the cat and although he doesn't seem to know it 1 swipe and the siamese is bowled over. He seems to only want to play with him as he bows and wags his stump. I don't want to keep telling him off and shouting at him. How can i teach him to be a little more gentle?

I don't think you can - your cat should soon smarten up and not push his luck too far though :-)

Rotties always seem to thing they are the same size as a yorkie ! my two try to sit on knees and squeeze through spaces they think they ll fit which are usually about 6 inches too narrow which inevitably leads to them knocking things over. One of mine is the same with the cat she puts one paw on her to pin her down and wash her, the cat usually whacks her and walks away. Your cat will learn eventually.

Welcome to the forum Rottybird :-)
You really made me laugh when you said the cat 'tarts about him'. That is so true of siamese! Anyway, like Fran said, I don't think you can teach him to be more gentle. I would be tempted to discourage any 'roughness' on his behalf and stop the cat from bugging him to much. He will soon learn what is exceptable behaviour with the cat and vice versa. The trouble with siamese is that they think they are dogs  mine used to torment the hell out of my dogs, and they had a healthy respect for him. But he would insist on running down the garden side by side with them. He was totally oblivious to how much danger he was in when he did that, he just thought he was a superior version of them. Good luck with yours :D

Thanks for the replies,
you are quite right when you say that the siamese thinks that it is a dog!!!
My Rotty and the siamese will share a dog chew, one on one end and the other chewing the other end!! Many times i find the poor dogs chews and schmacko bars in the cats beds!!!
The cat is not frightened of Bear (the Rotty) and comes running into the room to greet him and thrusts his head up to Bear, asking him to wash him!! Bear starts off ok, but then gets a little rough, the cat will bite his ear when he gets rough but unfortunately not hard enough, whereas my others hiss and whack him, big time!
I feel mean shutting the cat out of the room, as he mews pitifully from the other side of the door and Bear sits at the door waiting for the cat to come in!!
