I really enjoy reading all the differrent posts and have had some sound advise in the past. I need a bit of help with my pup, he is a 4 month old mini daxie who keeps wetting in my 3 yr old SBT bed. She has a beanbag, which i can wash the outside but i know the pee is seeping into the beans, he also loves to poo under the bed while playing with my other dog. This happens everyday, i take him out in the garden after play, sleep food etc and he is really good, he will then come in and pee on my girls bed, i pick him straight up and put him outside again. Is there anything i can buy to get rid of the odour as i know once a smell is there, they will carry on peeing ove the old smell. I have tried detergent, is there a special spay i can buy? i am going to have to buy my girl a new bed, the pup is fine as he doesn't pee in his own (not silly) but don't want him going straight on the new bed and pee. Any help would be great.

HI, can you make a wooden tray bed with sides too high for the daxie to jump into?I would imagine a SBT is pretty agile and could jump into a bed with sides too high for the daxie? Then you can put the bean bag in and the daxie cant get in to soil it. You seem to be doing all the right things re the housetraining, but do try to keep him in the room where you are so you can catch him at it, rather than let him have the run of the house and then find a present later on when he has forgotten all about it. You could try putting newspaper down by the door of the room you are in to at least get him to do it where you want him to, Usually if you wash the places he has peed with biological washing powder solution, that is supposed to mask the smell - dont use bleach .

Thanks Westie lover, the solution is so simple when your pointed in the right direction. I'll get hubby busy this weekend making a nice new bed, that will please him. I will also try the washing powder, i have been using diluted flash! not sure if thats any good on the best carpets :). I have tried the newspapers but he ends up flying round the room with the paper in his mouth, he thinks its a game (daxie not hubby) :)
