After my eventful day at Danson that I talked about here a few months ago, when I didn't even have the guts to go and Champdoggers talked me into it, saying I would probably catch the showing bug afterwards, we went to a fun show at Tankerton yesterday (part of the Whitstable Oyster Festival, lol), mainly because my sister was peed off when Millie won a 3rd at Danson because her dumpy Westie never wins anything - I pointed out she was going to the wrong kind of shows before (i.e. village fetes with just one class for all dogs) and that I would take him to one with specified classes i.e. veterans and I bet he would win something - lo and behold he did, a purple 'special' rosette in the veterans class.  She was dead chuffed, and was wagging it in front of my face as we came out of puppy class at the same time with nothing!

Anyway, we went on to get a 5th in Prettiest Bitch (tut, she's already had a 3rd in that, lol!), and then our third and final class, Any Group Terrier....Millie came first!  Hurrah!  We got a rosette and a trophy, and fab goody bags.  And the judge came up to me standing by the car afterwards to tell me how lovely she was, and how good her ears and teeth etc are.

I'm hooked!  What's next, the car's packed, I'm ready to go....Come here Millie you little champ we're off to find a dog show!!! Waaa-heyyyyyyyy!!!

Tilbee was that you there yesterday?  OH came back from a stroll with Millie to say "there's someone there from Champdogs who knows you".  Then he told me how she had asked "is your dog called Jess", and typical male, ceasing the opportunity replied "yes that's right :-D!", the swine! Men!

Grrr...Any BREED terrier, not any group, dammit!  Oh you knew what I meant!

Yep looks like you've caught the 'showing bug' - great fun but just remember that the best dog is the one that comes home with you !!.

Bet you'll find yourself spending every weekend standing around in a muddy field hoping for a bit of coloured ribbon or ( even better ) a bit of card !

Yeah, I had my mum and my sister and her husband there (as my sister lives in Whitstable) but my sister and her OH are social snobs who hate being around other people and only let me stay long enough to enter 3 classes - the miserable so and so's - before making us go back home to theirs - and as Millie got a first it meant she had qualified for the final winners round but they wouldn't stay (sob! - we went back a few hours later as the dogs have a regular walk along the seafront every sunday afternoon, and saw a boy walking around with a HUGE cup - it could have been hers, waaaaaaaaaaaahh!)

66 classes, omg!! Unfortunately I don't think I will be able to pursuade OH to go all the way to Deal - but I'm going to have a good go at trying to pursuade him! ;-)
