We have a gorgeous large munsterlander boy Chance who is now one year old, he has been a dream to own, and is a wonderful dog, we would love a second munster, would it be ok to get another this summer, or is Chance not old enough yet?

Hi guest. As someone who owns a 2yr old Munster called Chance I thought I'd better answer ;)

Personally I wouldn't recommend it for another year. He hasn't gone through the 'Kevin the teenager' stage yet. You would be pulling your hair out if you had a puppy too  If I was breeding a litter soon I would not sell any pups to someone who had what is basically still a baby. Munsters mature a lot slower than some other breeds, mentally as well as physically. I wouldn't be without any of mine, though, they're lovely :D

Why don't you join? There are several Munster owners on here. It doesn't cost anything

Hi Guest,

I have always had a minimum of 3 years gap between my Munsters until I bred a litter in August 2000 and kept a bitch and then another in April 2002 and kept a dog.     There are best buddies but do have a tendency to do everything together, whereas Mia is "up for it", Curtis is a bit more docile.

It would really depend on the temperament of your dog, whether he is more like Mia (In which case I'd say wait a bit) or if he's a laid back lump like Curtis, I'd say he'd probably relish having doggy company.  Munsters do tend to do better in pairs and most Munster folk end up owning more than 1 at the same time!
