There are now red berries on the honeysuckle in my hedge, and my puppy still eats hedge, should I be worrying about it?

All I can discover so far, Jackie, is that the berries "unpalatable to human beings and should not be eaten".

dito Jan, used to have a URL for a site that listed all sorts of plants and the effects but can't find it since I changed PC. If it just tastes nasty then it might stop him eating the hedge but I don't want to make him ill or worse.

Ooh! Jackie! I've just found
this.

Thanks Jan, will go and pick the berries off mind you his attention has now moved the a sycamore sapling and he has just removed the top 3 feet, bye bye sapling. And now I have had about 6 feet of bramble dragged across my feet. OK I know, but I did not say it was a cared for hedge.

My theory is that brambles are a security device ... :o

You might me able too, my hounds pick them the day before they are ready for me, I find it fascination to watch them work a cluster of fruit and remove all those that are just turned black, leaving the rest for another day, they do the same with the rose hips and pick them when ripe but not fallen.

I know what you mean Jackie, I had a tibetan terrier years ago who used to do the same thing. He always used to act so innocent when we were looking for the berries but it was written all over his beard :D He was white, grey ..... and purple

Don't really mind them scrumping along the hedges but I do draw the line at digging up the carrots and potatoes :(
