My father recently lost his lab bitch, who was a great working dog and a great friend. He is looking for a trained black lab dog as our other dog is a bitch and gets quite jeal;ous of other bitches. He needn't be a F T CH but must make a good house pet as well as a picker upper. Dad is in Scotland (south of Edinburgh ) but his children are spread all over the country so could collect from anywhere. We'd like to give him the dog as a birthday present. It's not a surprisse, and he would come to inspect as well. Can anyone help? Thanks, alicem

Hi, your best bet might be to look in Shooting Times. But most of these are probably real working dogs and might not be used to family life. Also the breed rescue societies might help. Sometimes people cannot continue to work their dogs and need them rehomed. There is a gundog site that also advertises working labs for sale. www.world of gundogs. Hope this helps.
