Topic Dog Boards / Showing / qualification question

Regarding Crufts qualifying classes, I'd always understood that you could only qualify for Crufts at champ shows where cc's were on offer, but I've just been reading something on the kc website which mentions 'entries in breed classes where cc's are not on offer' -  and goes on to mention placings in variety classes.    My question is, if a dog is entered in a AVNSC class and comes 1st-3rd, is this a crufts qualification?  I had assumed it wasn't.

I beleive this is only relevant for breeds that do not have CC status.

Oh, thank you - that answers that one.

As far as I understand it is at Champ Shows where there are CC on offer, at premier shows the BOB of breeds that meet the criteria and the BIS & RBIS at open shows.

Edit: Brainless is correct in breeds that do not have CC's on offer at all.
