They will calm down a little once the novelty of having a house companion has worn off and they should be fine living together. You will probably find that the bitch will be 'top dog'. Try not to interfere if she disciplines the young male. this is normal behaviour. It is also normal for them to play-fight which can be very noisy and sound quite alarming if you are not used to it. Supervise them when they are being fed as food can be a flashpoint for more serious altercations.
If your bitch is not spayed, or the dog is not castrated, you will have to separate them entirely for the duration of her seasons. This is best achieved by placing the male in boarding kennels.
