We moved into our new house last week, and every thing has been quite peaceful up til now. The house opposite us had a party yesterday, it started at 12 noon and the music didn't stop until 3am. I wouldn't mind during the evening, but i thought after 12 was pushing it a bit, especially for a kid's party. They are out in the garden and have a bouncy castle so all the screaming and music got a bit loud for me! Anyway, all way quiet this morning until at lunchtime they started up again, and are playing really loud dance music. I have to work tomorrow morning and i won't be a happy bunny if it goes on late again!
AHHHHH! rant over!

Poor you! Hope that wasn't the reason why the house was sold in the first place :(. Get some of those little yellow foam earplugs - I swear by them. The road was dug up outside my house once when I was on night shifts and I never heard a thing :D

You ever think back when you were young and did all those type of things that pi$$ed off your neighbours :D I have, really turns the light on now that Iam older and have kids of my own.
I wish i could dollface, but i'm afraid at 21 years old i look back and see that i have led a very dull life! ;-) All is quiet again now though!

You know I was going to say that Mattie. I would go over and introduce myself when they get to know you a little better they will mroe than likey realise you need your sleep and keep it down :)
My road is very quiet normally ;) but some new neighbours moved in (after a lady died) and the whole Cul-de-Sac was in party mode that same weekend. Even though we told the new neighbours why and what was going on you know they never came and joined in and have the house up for sale now. :(
The party is because 6 children down the Croft have birthdays at within two days of each other the oldest Daisy who will be 12 this year, the youngest Reece who will be 7. So we close off the Croft to cars (mostly ours) and have a party 2 x bouncy castles in the Croft, one for under 7-8 and the other for the older kids. An Ice Cream man (pays to have connections ;) )And have various games of; egg and spoon, three legged races, relays, pass the parcel, musical chairs, statues anything you can think of before the kids sit down to sarnies, pop, cake, chicken drumsticks pizza etc on big long tables for the kids aged between 0 and about 13/14 the older ones normally sit on the grass and chat while they eat (remember the jubilee/street parties like that) Then all that want to go to the park we convoy ( it's about 5 minutes away by car) for a game of Cricket or Rounders (to many people for football) then all back to the street where a BBQ and Disco will have started as things move towards the evening. This only happens once a year in August. It is neighbourhood spirit - something a lot of places seem to have lost. Not everyone (like me for instance) has children but hey you have to give it a go and be cheerful otherwise you miss out on a lot of fun :) Last year we put out 67 plates for children then add about 35-40 adults more towards the evening when people come home from work/being out etc. Then there are the older people in the bungalows nearby too and last year about 12 OAP's came round from the home round the corner. In fact a lady called Joyce (who was 83) won the eggs and spoon race (she got some of the blokes to tickle the kids :) ) Plus the fact she had her next door neighbours three grandsons (aged 17, 19 and 22) pushing the wheelchair - that helped :)
Just when it is getting dark we bring out the birthday cake just one made by Mary (a lady in her 50's) who puts Sparklers on top lovely at dusk and everyone sings Happy Birthday. The we have the CD of NewYork, NewYork. Leg kicking burns off kids energy :) .
We will do it for as long as the goodwill continues down my Croft, and apart from the odd miserable person it does the neighbourhood good to mix together. :)
So I say go join the party before it's too late :)
