This is my first experience with the Lhasa Apsos and I'm hoping you can give me some insight for direct me to a web site where I can get some information.
I recently inherited a 10 pound, 5 yr old male Lhasa. We've known him since he was 2 and have never observed any strange behavior.
Four weeks ago I noticed his rear legs seemed to give out on him and he was dragging himself around with his front legs & upper body.
I rushed him to a Vet but he was over it in a matter of minutes. The Vet said she had no idea what was happening if she could not observe him in the process. She thought it might be his anal glands and cleaned them out.
Today the same thing happened again but this time it was confined to his front right leg. He just lost any control over it. He didn't seem to hurt or act in any other way unusual when I picked him up and he was completely back to normal a few minutes later. We love him because he's always been very playful & happy. But we're extremely worried about him
I would like to know from other Lhasa owners if this is a trait with the breed or how does one go about getting the problem diagnosed. I'm not likely to be in a Vet's office when this strikes him.
If you can give me an assist in any way, in any direction, to any link I would appreciate it.
Thank you,
CJ McNeill
