Hi
Just feeling so happy about Rosie's progress, I wanted to share it and say a huge thankyou to all of you who have helped us in any way. The 1-2-1's were quite rightly about the correct handling by the 'owner' (me!), consistency and persistancy breaks down the barriers of confusion between owner and dog, continuous praise of good behaviour and nil response to poor behaviour are just a few examples of the invaluable advice I have received from such knowledgeable and caring people on this site.
Although I have been very fortunate to have not experienced any great problems with my basset, the sheer nature of the breed motivated me to do the best I possibly could (like any of us), but without your help, I really don't think I would be feeling as proud & happy as I am about the well balanced bitch that she is becoming.  *probably spoken too soon and she's now chewing the sofa* But seriously, at only 13 months, I know there is a long way to go...but the changes in her are dramatic and the credit for this must be shared with all of you who have helped in your own way...many of you without even knowing :)
She now enjoys eating, likes men (the human kind!), actually plays with toys and enjoys her walks...these are just a few of the small hurdles we've overcome since we had her at 5 months.................... A sincere "Thank you"

Glad things are going well, just remind me (senior moment) but are you the lady who was so very worried about visiting the trainer in the first place?
