A friend at works father in law owns a fleet of coaches and I have suggested to him that he offer a service like Coaches 2 Shows does but only to UK dog shows and just wondered if anyone knew of a company who offer that service already or to gauge peoples views on the idea and if it was something they'd be interested in using????
Hi,
I would be thrilled to find a service like that for the uk showscene and would use it.
I would love a service like this, as I am too young to drive right now! My parents hate driving me around to shows, even though I'm not competing I love to go and watch.
It's a great idea!
Years ago when coaches to the shows were the norm, people talk about what a wonderful atmosphere there was upon the coach and even though quite often the coach had to wait if somebody got BOB nobody complained etc.
Perhaps going back to that would encourage people to stay for the groups and would perhaps bring back some of the social side of dog shows that seems to be increasingly lacking?
How i wish i was a 60's child ;-)

There's definitely nowhere round here that does such a service (North Wales) - but wish they would - that would be great! I don't drive, so am limited to where I can go with shows. Trains often don't run early enough, or then you're stuck at some station in the middle of nowhere, so a coach service would be brilliant!

I think it would be a great Idea. Would also be good to the environment!!! lol

I do use a coach to get to the long distance shows (gundogs day)
I find this is by far the best way to travel. The coach will always wait from any winning dogs that get the chance to compete for the group, we get smoked salmon/egg sandwiches and that bubbly wine stuff on a morning and sandwiches, snacks and wine on the way home. there's coffee and a toliet available all the time. and you just sit and relax and let the driver worry about the traffic (generally can park much closer than the cars in the car park) Dogs are happy as they can sit on the seats, All together it make a less difficult trip, I can not understand why more people don't use this service. For us the trip to Paighton is about 5 or so hours and so on the way down I shall be sleeping! when you work out the time, distance, traffic, and cost then surely coaches are much better.
If anyone wants any more information then if they contact me I will pass on the telephone number of the lady that runs them.
