Last night I was up till about two oclock I do family research and when I start I forget its bedtime. Needless to say this morning I am shattered Does anyone else do these stupid things on week nights

OH is in to family history and sits on Pc all night !!!!! looking through records then gets all excited when he finds a link he has been serching for I don't mind but then he  wakes me up to tell me he has found a relative of mine born in 1540 or something ....great I think they are getting more sleep than me .... good luck with yours hope you find them all :)

I knew my mothers details i have my grandmothers birth certificate and have gone back from that. I am only researching my mothers side as my cousin is doing my dads family. It is very interesting. Some of the sites I use are Family search, rootsweb, Ancestry, IGI batch numbers is good for births & marriages. I joined a yahoo group for scots - Irish genealogy because my ggg grandparents I have traced back to Leitram I wonder if they came acroos in the tattie boats. As you go to one site you usually get links to other sites but if anyone has any they want to pass on I would be very grateful.

I think he started with relatives birth certificates and traced frim there through record offices and using census I THINK he has gone a long way back now and has collected many photo's as well , he also found out that his father was married before and he has 3 half sister and 2 half brothers all of which we see all the time now and are very close too ... rumour also has it that he has another sister born In Malta around 1958 he has been searching his fathers Naval records to find when he was out there and where he was .. he is waiting to hear now from a record office in Malta now for a link .... see you never know what you gonna find :)

I like looking up my dog's family history on the net - esp. when I find photo's of her dad, who I recently found out was dog of the year in 1997 apparently!!!  OH has that X-Box live where he can play against people all over the world...Guaranteed to send me to sleep on the sofa - which I now do most nights :rolleyes:

I am a total insomniac I will flit from site to site untill 4 am, some of the time on Champdogs and doing reseach through different country website on dogs. some posts on here from me in the middle of the night, then read for an hour and then to sleep, usually when we have young pups that are in my room untill they are 4 weeks, and I am paraniod about mum laying on them
