Topic Dog Boards / Visitors Questions / weimaraner behaviour

I am writing for some advice about ways of dealing with my weimarana's behaviour. I got Kiya through the Weimarana Rescue in 1999, she was eight months old at the time. They gave me a breif history that she had three owners in the first months of her life and that she had been attacked by another dog during this time. I find Kiya very loyal and protective over myself, her behaviour is generally good, but over the last 6 months she has on occaisions been aggressive towards some adults both male and female who she has already met. As this behaviour is very unpredictable I do not know how to change this. She is exercised everyday and seems content the only other problem i find is that when i go out and she is left alone she barks continuously, much to the annoyance of my neighbours! I would be most grateful if you could give me any tips or advice to help me deal with this behviour or provide me with a contact, awaiting your reply. Emma Latham, Lathamemma@hotmail.com

why do you not get in touch with Weimaraner Rescue who will be able to advise you or point you in the right direction.

HI emma,

I strongly suggest that you contact your rescue co-ordinator who would be more than happy to help you.  That should be your first port of call as they will have the history of the dog and where it has come from.
