How much time should you leave between seasons for breeding? My cavalier bitch had a healthy litter 2 months ago and I wish to know how to leave it before she is safe to have another? Please do not get me wrong she is a family pet and we do not breed for money gain.

Why does she did to have another litter is the question that springs to my mind, however back to back matings are not advised so at least a year between litters depending on how old your bitch now is for example if she was around 2 1/2(the youngest anyone should consider breeding from a femaleor male  CKCS for health issues(SM, MVD etc))then a year, but if she is say 6/7 years old then really she should not be bred from again

I would leave at least one clear season, preferably 2, between litters. She would need at least 12 months between whelpings.
