I am looking for a good hunting dog to raise and train. Must like the water and upland bird hunting. I have german shorthairs now and want a dog that works closer in and will water retrieve. I want an outstanding dog and will buy only from the best blood lines. I may want to begin breeding if dog meets the standard and is a proven by test hunter.  The dog will be a family member and loved by us all. I have two young boys and we will grow up together in the field and duck blind. Primarly hunting pheasants, Quail and partrige. I like everything I have seen and read about the dogs would be interested in possibly buying as puppy this fall. I hope you can help me or provide mor information. Thank you.

John, I think you will have more luck if you contact the people of the dogs you have seen? There does not appear to be a breed club in the USA and if you intend to export one then you would be wise to go to their country of origin. The GLP is rare in the UK and the cost of purchasing a puppy in the first instance will be vastly over what you would pay in Germany.
