Im gettin a puppy soon and i want to feed him BARF but can any one give me ideas for what to give and how often? or is it better to combine the raw food with a commercial dog food? how much will i have to give as he grows? The breeder already feeds him on a commercial food but can i still change it? Sorry about asking so many questions.
Thanks for any help
PS my pup is a Border terrier

Hi Guest
yes you can feed BARF. You an change him onto it when you get him and he will still need the same amount of feeds as he does on complete.I would start by replacing a couple of his meals for a couple of days and then change over when he is used to eating the raw.
It would be better in the long run to feed a completely raw diet if you feel able.I have been feeding BARF for about 3 months now and am very pleased with it.
I have a different breed to you but my 5 month old elkhound pup eats approx 2 lbs of raw meat a day aswell as eggs, veg etc...compared to my adaults who only get 1 lb!
If you click on search at the top right hand of the page then put raw or barf into it you will see lots of threads on this subject.
You could also join..its free and you could ask as many questions as you like.
