Hi Gwen,

Hooray!! just got back on-line! Isn't that typical, post on here asking for help and the stupid system goes haywire...Thanks for offering to help, you must have thought me very rude when I did not approach you earlier on Sunday, but I have only manage to read your very kind reply...

Sorry I did not have time to speak to you, I was still half asleep, we had all been out Friday night and I did not manage to get to bed until 3.35am, so getting up at 6.45 was a big struggle, still drinking coke all night did help. I took my nephew with me and he enjoyed the day.

Are there any more shows at Newark, last time I went they handed out schedules for other shows, but I was in such a daze that I did not see any!...

As you saw Bosun and I are in desparate need of help - I realise that we will never be up to big show status - he is too much the terrier type, but we enjoy going to open shows, and he did come first on Sunday - well he was the only one in his class ha ha!!

Debbie
have you looked on www.prodogs.co.uk
There are shows listed for the whole year around the UK - both staffy only and mixed shows :)

Stop putting yourself down as well !

Hi Lel,

I know, poor old Bosun no wonder he is maniac, he must have an identity problem ha ha!!

Actually the judge was wonderful, and even gave us a few words of encouragement to continue open shows!

Hi Debbie - I saw Bosun on sunday and thought he was lovely, keep up the good work!
And well done to Gwen and friends - I loved your dogs.
Where were the rest of the staffs though? - it's given me encouragement to go along next time and have a go - seeing as there weren't many in each class, we might just get a rosette if we don't completely mess it up.

Hi Poppynurse,

Thank you, Bosun and I enjoyed the show, I would have liked to stayed longer but my nephrew was beginning to worry about getting home for the football final!!!!

Debbie you did well you brilliantly at the last show we attended togather didn;t you. Bosun walked better than Sal didn't he and he is adorable. :)

Poppynurse the "open" mixed shows seem to be "underused" by Staffie owners. But give them a  go they are great fun.

Hi Karen,
Bosun did not behave at all this time, he would not stand- I haven't a clue where to place his feet, he wanted to lick the judge so she had no chance of seeing teeth, or being even able to feel over him he fidgeted so much! I can't wait to see what she wrote for his critique ha ha!!

So we are practising at home again, I have been very lax with him but I would like to enter a couple of shows in August at Newark so the training has began!!!

Bosun is being introduced to Molly tonight - that should be fun!

Hi then Debbie

Tell me which you are going to and I will enter too. We can support each other. :)

Watch what other Staff people so then copy that :) are you free 17th or vern the 18th of July? if so we could meet up "dogless" and go the potteries/or parent club championship show. There should be lots of good dogs entered at both and watch how the experts do it. So we could both pick up a few tips. If you fancy it that is.

Hi Karen

Not sure if I will be free, will be at the caravan at Chapel St Leonards with Grand-daughter, I think.  Can I let you know next week??

I have sent for three schedules for shows at Newark Showground. I will check the names and let you know.  It would be great if you come,  I would have someone to talk too, I would bring Bosuns cage so no worries there...

When is Sal's next show and where?

Hi Karen

The two shows are listed on Champ dogs diary,

The Sheffield & District     22/8

Wath/West Melton           28/8

Not sure about the Sheffield show as it states Premier Open - any idea what that means???

Debbie
- By kazz Date 08.07.04 10:46 UTC
Premier open means that some breeds can gain entry to crufts by being BOB (I THINK) they are just the same as open shows - nothing grand. :)

Karen

I will have a look now, at champdogs.

Ive an entry form here to send off the Sheffield & District too :)
May see you there then :) and we can bring Libs too

Hi Debbie - where did you send off to for the shows at Newark? I've been looking out for schedules but can't find any...
Thanks
- By kazz Date 08.07.04 22:01 UTC
Duplicated sorry
- By kazz Date 08.07.04 22:02 UTC
I've emailed for a schedule for the 28th but have to phone tomorrow about the 22nd, as the person I spoke too was nothing to do with the show just the "delivery man" so I will try again tomorrow.Debbie have you looked at the schedule for the Leics show, I have posted about this on another thread in "showing" that would be close for you too :)
