Help!!

I'm going to a friend's hen party in Edinburgh this weekend, but have just been advised that (a) you tend to have to walk long distances between venues (ie pubs, bars etc) and (b), a lot of places don't welcome hen parties, for obvious reasons.  As I'm partly responsible for organising Saturday evening's games, could anyone who knows Edinburgh recommend a particular location, or places they know which are likely to admit a hen group?

Any recommendations on places to eat would also be very helpful - the bride-to-be hasn't booked a restaurant and as there are 13 of us going I suspect this could be a problem ...

Panicking, me? :D

Thanks in advance, Champdoggers!

There's a very nice Italian restaurant called Bar Roma just off Princess Street in Queensferry Street (Tel: 0131 226 2977) and a very popular nightclub is the Opal Lounge in George Street, which is walking distance from Bar Roma (their number is 0131-226 2275).  There is a bar above the Opal Lounge (but I can't remember it's name) which does very nice cocktails.

PM me if there's anything I can help with.  One of my friends had her hen night in Edinburgh last year and it was excellent.

Hi Jo,

it only seems a long walk between pubs:D

There are a few areas with lots of bars, like the Grassmarket, the west end and the Pink Triangle.  Which area suits best all depends on what type of pubs and bars you are looking for.

Edinburgh is currently among the top spots for hen and stag nights - apparently it is overtaking Dublin (or so I read somewhere).  Given the huge numbers of students around, I wouldn't have thought hen/stag nights were likely to be much of a problem.

Just make sure of the quality of the stripper, if you're having one...

Have fun

Never been there myself, but Asian Ginger Martinis from the Opal Lounge are legendary in my company.  Much debauchery and comedy stems from them ......... :D

We went last august for a hen weekend and i will have to say it was the best we could of hoped for. Have you a theme for yours if not you can borrow :D what we did. Well we flew on friday morning and came back late sunday evening. Once we got there and booked in to B&B went site seeing and got a few essential drinks for later on we needed them as we had decided the theme for friday night would be to dress up as Cheer Leaders we brought the outfits before we came basically we wore matching outfits that comprimised of white skimpy top very short tarten kilt (dorthey perkins 10 quid in sale) and wearable again, pigtails with pom pom style bobbles, visor, tights, white trainers and a very cheap baton for twirling. Out of all the bars/clubs only 1 was funny. All the others were fine about it and nearly every male wanted to twirl our batons :D :D :D 3 sisters club was brilliant. We put 20 quid each into a kitty and drank loads and still had some left next day (8 of us went) it was a great night.
Another theme we thought about was cow girls.
I will warn you one Jenny got food poisioning and we all think it was macdonalds near the bus station so be carefull if you order from there at night.
During the day loads to do everything seemed to revolve around princess street and the shops are brilliant. Have fun i know we did.
