Hi all
We picked up our new pup last night(bullmastiff) and already i have a question.
She went to the toilet this morning and there were some pretty big dead worms init. The breeder gave me her worming record which reads...she was born on the 24/4, her mum was wormed on the 5/5 using panacur then the pup was wormed on the 14/5, 28/5, 16/6 and 29/6.
If this was the case would she still have worms present?
When we got our lab back in January her worming record read simular and she never had worms present.
The pup has a puppy check at the vet tomorrow, would you recommend that i ask them to worm her again or is it to soon from the last worming?
Thanks Debbie
Some wormers produce dead worms and some kill them but you never see the evidence as I beleive they dissolve.
If you pup had been as regularly wormed as the record shows I would be very surprised to see a lot of worms at this age.
Discuss a worming regime with your vet.
Good luck with having two pups so close in age!
When we first got Toby he had worms so the vet gave me some worming powder (sorry cant remember which one) a day or two later Toby kept pooing worms but they soon went,
have a word with your vet, good luck :)
Heidi
Thanks for the replys.
There was dead worms in 2 poo's this morning but none since so maybe she just had a few. I will still speak to the vet about it when we see him tomorrow.
As for the 2 pups together so far so good. Buffy my older pup is 7 months but she more like a little old lady shes extremly well behaved and does everything she is told. So i'm hoping that all will go well.
The new pup Kizer is 9 weeks and also seems to be quite well behaved, she has only messed in the house once so far, she had done it when i got up this morning. Every other time she has needed out she has gone to the back door and barked, i have to be honest and say that i am gob smaked, Buffy was fast but not this fast.
Still early days tho, so fingers crossed.
Thanks again Debbie
