Hello All, it has been a while since I posted anything on here so to recap: I have a male staff, 15 months old. Over the last few weeks he has been wiping his bottom on the carpet. I have not seen this as it only happened when my mum was looking after him, plus we have no carpet in the downstairs of our house I took him to the vet last week for his boosters and a general check up and he has no worms, (plus I have been regularly checking his poo for any signs) but yesterday and today he has started to do the same in the office and it tends to be first thing in the morning and late afternoon. We have carpet at work. Can any one offer some advice?

scooting on the carpet would indicate to me that his anal glands need emptying;
I'm no expert, but it sounds like he may have compacted anal glands. The more experienced people here empty them themselves, but I'd certainly go to the Vets and have them check it out.
Others members will better advise you shortly
Take Care

Could be his anal glands or a tapeworm. I would take him back to the vet and ask.

Fagan does this if he has had a particularly runny poo

I have booked into the vets for tomorrow, thank you for your advice. I hope it is something simple as we are going on holiday (Bobby's first holiday) on saturday in hopefully sunny cornwall! fingers crossed.
