Gina, how is Barney? Is he still doing it? Most dogs are sick a bit of bile (yellow froth) every now and then, it isn't usually anything to worry about :-)

i had a dog that would bring up frothy bile if it went slightly over meal time-had an empty stomach- however i also had a young male rott that did it but also had no appetite and looked a poor dooer, i was back and forward to the vets with him, assured it was nothing each time, given medicine to settle his stomach, this went on over months until i came in one day to see him collapsed and hed been sick with bottle green bile, i rushed him to the nearest vets and they xrayed him ,before id got home theyd been on the phone there was a bit of brick in his stomach that had worked its way to his bowl, looking back i remembered him sometimes having difficulty in passing feacies. this happened about19 years ago when i was clueless ,if it happened today id insist on an xray if it didnt clear up -if it had the other symtoms too -not interested in food, sparse dead coat etc,
id think if your dogs happy, eating well and going to the toilet ok it might just be the first one ,empty stomach, or something hes chewing, bones trees etc

Hiya. Barney is fine now. No sickness at all. It was just frothy water he brought up and he is definitely not ill.Very lively, eats like a horse (if we were to let him) although he doesnt seem to like doggy biscuits etc. Likes a few dog choc buttons if he is good at going to the loo in the right place and not nipping (needless to say he isnt very good most of the time so he doesnt get a lot of choc!!!). I am waiting for the day he stops using me to nip on but he does only do his loo etc by the back door now so you never know. The funny thing is how wilful like a child he is I know he knows what I am saying to him as he knows all the other words I say but when I say NO you would think I was talking in chinese or something...completely ignored LOL...Sorry to go on but arnt they lovely? LOL. Thanks for your help again both of you. Gina
