Hi, My pup is now over 7 mths old and people keep on telling me he smells as in his fur, he is a golden and i know they are water proof and the fur is coated, i woundered if it was this or maybe blocked pores, i don't really know can anyone shed some light on this or have i just got a stinky dog???

Other than the normal dog smell, which should not be unpleasant unles the people who are telling you this are totally non doggy and ove sensitive to any smell, then your dog should not smell unpleasant.

Dogs will obviously smell after they get wet and if it is very warm.

I would look at what he is eating, and check his ears also.  Goldens get very hairy in the eats and all excess fur growing inside3 the ars should be plucked away or trimmed, to stop ear infections which are more likely in flop eared dogs.

What are his teeth like, does his breath smell nice or bad?

I clean his ears with wipes and his breath is OK he chews all the time so his teeth are clean, it is his fur and they say he smells the room out even after he is gone and they can smell him on there hands and cloths.
Sometimes he does smell when he has been asleep and i have to hoover and spray to get rid of the sleepy smell, but unless i put my nose on him and sniff i carn't smell it, but dad says i am immune to it and i don't notice it like they do. I thought about his glands!!
