In the last week my 2 yr 4 mth male cocker spaniel has urinated in the house 4 times. He was difficult to house train, and still had the ODD accident but this seems more than that. He goes for 2 long walks a day and is let out into the back garden frequently. The first wee was when he ws very excited at the prospect of 'walkies', the second we where in the house but upstairs, the last two times we had gone out..
(only for a few hours). He manages not to 'go' overnight and dosnt seem to be drinking any more than usual. Obviously we will take him to the vets for a check up if it happens again, in the meantime has anybody any advice or any experience of this problem.

It could be a sign of a water infection. My dog Jazz started just weeing a bit more than usual but it just got worse. A quick visit to the vets would probably put your mind at rest.

Could be that an inseason bitch is in the area. But take a sample to the vets for testing to be sure he has no infection. Jackie H.

I've had similar problems with my male Lab, after several checkups the vet could'nt find anything wrong with him but did suggest it might be that he could smell a bitch in season. The problem comes and goes, last night in the middle of obedience traning he decided to use my leg as a lampost, much to the amusement of all present. If the he keeps doing this I'm thinking of having him castrated.

I remember when I was a little girl we had a wire-haired fox terrier my Dad had waited years to buy. The first time he cocked his leg was against my mothers leg she squealed and my Dad said "stand still woman, you'll put him off"!!
