Does anyone know how long it takes for a pulled muscle to heal? My dog was in rough play with two other dogs and pulled up sharply crying seemingly hurting her shoulder muscle.She runs fast jumps and generally covorts about but sometimes pulls up one foot and squeaks-next second she is running again like nothing has happened! I can manover her leg in all directions and nothing hurts! Very strange The initial damage happened two weeks ago! Should I rest her or get it investigated?

I had this problem with one of my elkhounds last year.He would run the pull up quickly with a yelp and hold his back leg off the floor.I used to try to find the source of the pain but never could and after a quick 'rub' he would be off again as if nothing had happened.
I lead walked him for a couple of weeks and he recovered completely...
