Topic Dog Boards / Visitors Questions / Preparing for Weimaraner Puppy!
- By Guest [gb] Date 21.06.04 11:24 UTC
I will be collecting my Weimaraner bitch puppy at the end of July and am trying to get everything organised beforehand.  We have two cats who sleep in their bed in the kitchen, so I am wondering where the best place for my pup to sleep will be (I intend to use a crate for training).  Would it be ok for her to sleep in our bedroom, or is that a bad idea?  We have a porch next to the kitchen which would be ok in the summer for her to sleep in, but it gets cold in winter.  I'd be grateful for any advice.  Also, I am struggling to come up with a nem for my pup.  Any suggestions?

If you are thinking of having her in the bedroom to sleep then that would be the best place.  All of mine, as pups, slept in a crate beside the bed.  They settled at bedtime without becoming distressed about being left and by getting up in the night as soon as they woke and needed a pee they didn't learn to go on the floor or in their crate and very quickly became clean and dry overnight.
