Could someone give me an idea as to the price I should expect to pay for a K.C. registered staffy pup.

Thanks!

£400 ~ £450 is the normal price, anything higher is being a bit greedy.

Average prices for a good line tend to be £450-£500.
Although KC registered can be bought for less , these are the average price for pups with well known pedigrees :)

thats fair enough Lel, but there are 'some people' out there that will charge £500 ~ £550 for a KC staff that are not 'known' or not from 'good lines'but just because they can. I meant that many breeders charge £400 ~ £450 even from 'good lines', but i will accept that £500 should be the 'TOP' price for a Staff pup from Excellent lines :)

Hi Emma
wasnt trying to contradict you - we posted at the same time :)

and yes there are people charging £500 ( and above) for a dog who's ancestors have never seen the ring- therefore what justifys people charging this ? To the novice, the higher the price will probably be seen as a better dog but its not always so.

i know you weren't Lel :D :D , it's just that there are many 'unscrupulous' breeders out there that will sell for as much as they can, and i just thought that we should let guest know that :)

hiya all, i am the proud owner of staffies and when/if i do breed a litter i never charge above     £375 for any of my puppies, even for the fact that my staffs have quite a good bloodline!!!!

just because a staff or any other puppy has a good blood line dosn't mean that they will become champions in the ring.
my puppies are sold for either show or pet-with the latter being the obvious one
it's up to individuals how they bring/train up their pups, and hey if a puppy does go  on to do well in the show ring then surely i am promoting my/the staff breed.

i seen an ad today for KC reg black brindle stafford with a good pedigree (5 champs in 5 gen not what i would call good) going for £505.25

now what is the £5.25 for???
- By markcaddy [gb] Date 22.06.04 22:53 UTC
maybe it's for the paper they've used for the adverts!
anyway it's cheaper than £ 5.30 lol
- By Staffie lover [gb] Date 22.06.04 23:52 UTC
lol but they used a free ad site ;)

and its better then £525 that i have also seen (for non KC reg pup's)

VAT?

Or it's one of the classic adwriters' mis-spellings. Perhaps it should read £500 - £525? (They may have taken the ad over the phone.)
