We've done liver cakes and the boys LOVED it too.Went for a walk and all 3 boys off lead refused to run but walked alongside me begging for the cake!
Tried sardine cake to...boys said nice but not as good as the liver!

Funny I got a similar response to tuna cake - close but no cigar. Morse never gets fed up of liver cake and I love the calming effect of making it. Wonder if I could make pilchard cake? HOw many tins of sardines did you need, Archer?

I have heard of liver cake many times, and lots of people making it themselves, so could someone please give me the recipe ;)
carol

Well I made mine in thr microwave using a 1lb orf blitzed liver (food processor or blender) that mixed into a 1lb of flour, with three eggs beaten in.
I then put it into a lrge plastic tub and nuked it for 15 minutes.
Was quite gobsmacked that it rose out of th3e tup.
I then sliced it and then cut the slices into squares and back into the tub and keep it in the frezer taking out how many squares I might need.

Hi all
My girl has a wheat allergy so I can't give her anything with flour in. Has anyone tried using anything other than wheat flour?
Thanks Annieee
You can buy soya flour for those dogs who have a wheat allergy. Works fine in these recipes.

Used 4 tins of fish and 3 eggs and enough flour to make a 'dropping' consistancy....will stick with liver I think...just bought 36lbs of it from my dog food supplier(only 28p/lb...so it'll be cheap cake!!)

:D :D :D 36lbs of liver in one go, he must love you very much! Ill have a go at the sardine/pilchard cake and let you know how it goes.

he he ...they like it but not that much!!!well..ok ...they would if I let them!
I get all my raw food delivered...ready frozen and was buying liver etc from the supermarkets.Since I've got the freezer space it seemed silly at that price not to buy a supply with my last food delivery....soooo much cheaper!
