hi, i have just bought my 2nd rottie after months of seaching for the right one, and i have found him although in the confusion and excitment i didn't really discuss his papers, my bitch does not have pedigree papers , he has no number on these papers no name, just his d.o.b. discription etc. all the generations name and address of breeder. will i have to register him? he is 9mths.also i do not understand the abreviations on his pedigree such as j.w. or h.b. i know that c.h. is champion are the others just names? i know i must sound quite thick, but i feel i need to know.thank you. nuggie.

JW - Junior Warrant.
Can't for the life of me think what HB is...

Only the breeder can register the dog with the KC in full.
You will have to contact the breeder and ask.

sounds like your pup is not registered and so cannot be registered...it has to be done by the breeder.Registration papers would have his registered name on.Hope you didn't think you were getting a kc registered pup and pay the price for such.
HB....the only thing I've known this used as is 'home bred'.

Are you sure that it is HB or is it BH?  Because BH is an abbreviation of Begleithund which is German for companion dog, the Begleithund title is an obedience title.  All dogs who want to compete in Sch 1, 2, or 3 must first gain the BH title.  I would expect a Rottwiler, Doberman, German Shepherd, any of the Belgian Shepherds, Giant Schnausers (did I spell that right?) to have several BH titles in their pedigree, but I live in Europe where it is usual for a dog of a working breed to have a title such as this.  Maybe its different in the UK. :)
