Hi, We have an english bull terrier who is currently 8 months old and we are interested in siring him in the future.
Would you please be able to advise how we should go about doing this.

regards

No you don't sire a dog....his father(sire) already did that. You want to put him to stud.
To start off with show him with success so that bitch owners will want to use him. Then have his health tests done(not just a quick examination by your local vet)...not cheap....and when he has passed his tests you can use him at stud.Of course you will need to make sure you have the facilities to take back any unruly dogs that people buy from the litter and then decide 6 months down the line that they can't cope with the chewing and toileting in the house. You will also need a suitable area to mate the dogs and accomodation for the owners and bitch should they need to stay over.
You are also aware that his temperament may change for the worse(become dog dominant) and that he may start marking his territory...your house!

You should also consider joining a ringcraft class at a local training club to prepare for the ring, and join a bull terrir breeders club, information for the breed club can be found on the Kennel Club site. www.the-kennel-club.org
