Hi
I need to change my car as Abby is now getting very big OH wants me to get an estate so she go in a crate in the boot. Problem is I saw a programme where they were saying that in a crash where you get rear ended that the boot takes full impact and damage should stop just before the back seat to lesson injury to people I was wondering how sturdy the crates/cages are and would Abby be protected in event of an accident, at the moment she is in the back seat strapped in with her car harness.
Thanks Mary

At the end of the day depending on the type of crash, speed, other vehicles involved and point of impact everyone in the car can be killed no matter where you sit.

I always have my dogs in a custom car cage (not the fold up ones designed for use in the house) with escape doors in case of a rear end shunt.  Don't forget, in many cars now such as MPVs and 7 seater estates there are seats in this area...........................
