Yes, they can't be the only dog not to have problems, you need to check hips and eyes and I beleve they have skin problems and no doubt other problems. Best way is to contact some of the breed clubs and see what they suggest.

Yes, but the only one I know of is PHPV - an eye problem as this is very similar to the problem that my breed gets.
Preferably all breeding stock should be tested and the pups examined by a canine opthalmologist before leaving their breeder
